We are both originally from South Africa and arrived in the Land in January 1991 in the middle of the Gulf War. We came with our four young childrern to make a life in the Land that YHVH had called us to. By first going to a kibbutz we were 'gently' integrated into the Israeli way of life.
During the years spent at the kibbutz we never lost sight of our calling, although it was not always easy, to plant a vineyard and be an active part of the fulfillment of prophecy by greening the desert. During the time spent on the kibbutz, Boaz served as the security coordinator and military liaison officer. Not a pleasant but very responsible job ensuring the safety of all the civilians living there. Two unpleasant milestones occurred while we lived on the kibbutz but they continue to serve as reminders of what life is like in Israel. On 9th January 2001 the attack on the 'Africa' outpost at the kibbutz saw four of our soldiers give their lives to keep the kibbutz safe and in 2006 saw an attack in almost the same place in which two more soldiers gave their lives and Gilad Shalit was kidnapped.
Rina spent her time working with young children in the kindergarten as well as helping with the growing of flowers and mangoes.
In November 2006 the Father finally released us from the kibbutz and moved us down to the Arava region of Israel for an interim period of rest and restoration. In November 2007 we moved to our third well (Gen.26) at Be'er Milka, our new home in the Negev Highlands. This is our permanent home and the base for Shefa. It is a place where the Father's will can be freely fulfilled. A well in the wilderness, a place of peace and tranquility where one can come and hear His word spoken in the desert.
We welcome visitors, whether it be for a cup of coffee, a weekend or a prolonged stay, we would love to see you!
